♛ in character ♛

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: OOCly, go for it. Qrow could use a hug tbh. ICly he's a little squirrelly about physical affection for various reasons but simultaneously hella touch-starved, so.

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: I'm totally cool with writing out violence, though I would prefer to avoid extremely graphic descriptions of viscera. Hard no on limb loss, permanent disfigurement, and eye injuries.

ROMANCE/FLIRTING: Let's chat about it! I play Qrow as bisexual, but he's got that Emotional Baggage so any kind of relationship beyond "friends with benefits" will take a lot of work. At his V7 canonpoint I also play him as having feelings for Clover.

SEXUAL CONTENT: While I don't mind threading out suggestive scenarios, I am not interested in writing anything explicit. If the thread heads in a sexual direction, I'd like to handwave or fade to black.

PSYCHIC ABILITIES: All bracket text is fair game for telepaths/empaths. I'm open to anything, except loss of autonomy (e.g. mind control, memory manipulation, etc.) For general information about his state of mind, please refer to his app! MAGIC/POWERS: Go for it.

MEDICAL INFORMATION: He's an alcoholic (recovering as of V7), but otherwise pretty healthy for a middle-aged man who's been fighting monsters all his life.

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS OR TRIGGERS: He's sensitive about his bad luck semblance but not much else. (OOCly i'm fine with conflict related to this, however!)

FOURTH WALLING: My one hard limit is that I'd prefer someone doesn't explicitly tell Qrow that he's fictional or start citing scenes from actual canon to him. Beyond that, a lot of RWBY characters are based on fairytales so I'm totally fine with those things being referenced, or characters being familiar with genres like RWBY or even having watched a vague expy with names and events changed up, etc.

ALCOHOLISM OPT-OUT

Qrow's character arc involves themes of substance abuse, specifically alcoholism. In aefenglom, he is from a canonpoint where he is still actively drinking regularly, while in deerington he is from V7 and in recovery. If you are at all uncomfortable with these themes and would prefer I avoid mentions of urges to drink, actively drinking, having been drunk, or hangovers in our threads, or references to recovery when I am playing from V7, please let me know! Comments are screened for comfort.

Every individual in the RWBY universe has an Aura, the ability to manifest their soul for use in combat. Additionally, individuals in the RWBY universe can unlock a secondary dimension of their Aura, an ability unique to them. Qrow’s semblance--Misfortune--is a special case; unlike other semblances in the series, it is constantly active and uncontrollable in its effects, bringing bad luck to himself and everyone within his physical vicinity unpredictably. He is said to be able to amplify the extent to which this happens by spending his Aura, but it otherwise appears to be independent from the level of Aura he has.

In Deerington, I mostly intend to use this power for flavor, to either facilitate the progress of threads or add a layer of comedy with mostly minor misfortunes like dropping things or tripping, etc. I will always communicate with players for pre-plotting before putting their characters in any danger because of his Semblance, but please comment here if you do NOT want your character to personally experience any of these misfortunes at all. Again, all replies screened.
